A delegation of media practitioners from the Katsina Media Forum on Wednesday paid a courtesy visit to Sheikh Yakub Yahya Katsina to congratulate him on the recent wedding of his two grandchildren.
The visit, which took place on 19 November 2025, was also organised to welcome the Islamic scholar back from his trip to Iraq for the Arba’in commemoration of Imam Husaini (AS) in Karbala, as well as his follow-up medical consultations in Iran.
During the interaction, Sheikh Yakub Yahya expressed appreciation for the visit and offered brief advice to the journalists, particularly on responsible use of social media. He reminded the delegation of the need for accuracy and sincerity in their professional duties.
According to him, “Your work is an act of service. Whatever you write should be factual because people rely on the information you provide. A journalist must recognise that his work carries responsibility, and he is accountable before God.”
The visit ended with prayers offered by the scholar before the delegation took its leave.
